HOW IT WORKS.
Enter a UK registration, confirm paint-code availability and pay 95p to receive your result by email. No account needed for a one-off check.
PaintReg is a UK vehicle paint-code lookup service. For a one-off check, enter a registration, confirm that a code is available and pay 95p. Your code and available colour name are delivered by email after payment.
Enter your registration
Spaces are fine. Check that the vehicle make and model shown belong to your car.
Confirm availability
The preview says whether a paint code is available. It may show broad vehicle colour information, but it does not expose the paid code or exact paint name. The blurred illustration is decoration, not your result.
Pay 95p securely
Use the embedded checkout and supply the email address where you want the result. No account is needed. An unavailable code has nothing to pay.
Read your email and check the label
Delivery follows verified payment. Check your inbox and junk folder. Confirm the result against the car’s paint label before ordering or mixing; a recorded original finish may differ from a repainted or faded car.
Regular workshop or software use
Workshop accounts have saved search history and exports. Software integrations use authenticated API keys and prepaid credit. Compare the plans or read the API overview.
Common questions
Is a paint code the same as a colour name?
A paint code identifies a manufacturer’s finish. A broad colour such as red or blue does not identify the paint formula, and colour names can vary between countries. Use the code when ordering paint.
What if my car has been repainted?
A registration lookup relates to the recorded vehicle finish. If the car has been repainted, confirm its current finish before mixing or ordering. A code alone does not account for fading or paint variants.
Will every registration return a code?
No. Availability varies by vehicle, model and year. The one-off check confirms availability before payment; if a code cannot be established, there is nothing to pay.
Can I use this in my own software?
Yes. PaintReg offers authenticated API access with prepaid credit, API keys, usage history and exports. A minimum £20 credit deposit is required. Failed or unresolved lookups are not charged.
