The service

PaintReg looks up available vehicle paint-code information from a UK registration. Coverage varies, and a code or colour name cannot be guaranteed for every vehicle.

Check before painting

Confirm the code against the vehicle’s paint label. Information about an original finish does not establish the current finish of a repainted vehicle or compensate for fading.

Advertised pricing

Workshop plan: £32 monthly or £299 annually, with 500 searches per month and 50p per additional successful search billed at the end of each billing month. A seven-day free trial requires a card, includes up to 500 successful searches and stops before trial overages. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid the subscription charge. One-off results cost 95p and are delivered by email following verified payment. API access requires at least £20 prepaid credit. Successful searches 1–1,000 in a UTC calendar month cost 0.064p each, 1,001–10,000 cost 0.062p each and searches thereafter cost 0.06p each. These are fractions of a penny, not 6.4p or 6p. Unavailable or ambiguous results without a confirmed code are not charged. Registration alone does not grant search access.
